Protecting your data is a priority for RecoKit. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it, especially in the context of our Shopify application.

1. Data Controller

2. Data Collected

We collect the following types of data:

  • Account Data: When you sign up or install our Shopify app, we collect your email address, shop URL, and contact information necessary for account management.
  • Catalog Data (Store Owners): We synchronize your product catalog data (titles, descriptions, prices, images, tags, inventory). This data is used to generate AI recommendations.
  • Sales and Order Data: To measure the performance of our recommendations (attribution), we collect order information (purchased products, quantities, amounts). We do NOT collect payment information from your end customers.
  • Navigation Data (End Customers): The RecoKit widget uses the browser's LocalStorage to remember the last products viewed by visitors to provide "Recently Viewed" recommendations.

3. Purpose of Processing

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Providing, maintaining, and improving the RecoKit service.
  • Managing your account and subscription.
  • Analyzing your catalog to generate product recommendations.
  • Tracking the performance and ROI of recommendations.
  • Contacting you regarding your account or important service updates.

We never sell, rent, or share your catalog or sales data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), and database infrastructures isolated by client (multi-tenant).

5. Sub-processors

We use trusted sub-processors to provide our service:

  • Hosting: OVH and Google Cloud (for application and database hosting).
  • Payment: Polar (for secure subscription management).
  • AI Services: Google Gemini (for semantic analysis of products). Only public catalog data (titles and descriptions) is transmitted securely to generate recommendations. No data is used for training third-party models.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your data. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at contact@recokit.fr. You can also delete your account and all associated data from your dashboard.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

Our service uses essential cookies for operation (session management). The storefront widget utilizes LocalStorage to provide personalized recommendations without tracking across different sites.
